Shuttleworth College offers budding florists
the chance to blossom and gain qualifications which could improve
their work opportunities or allow them to start their own
businesses.
A range of courses start in September 2011
which run from 10 weeks to 2 years, with day or evening
study. Those wanting to bloom in floristry now have a real
chance to make the best of their skills and gain more experience
and qualifications.
Claire McGoldrick opened her own floristry
business “Hello Flower” in Arlesey after studying at the college
for 4 years from evening classes through to day classes and all
whilst still working full time.
Claire explains:
“It was a joy to study in the absolutely
beautiful surroundings of Shuttleworth College and with expert
guidance and support from tutors. It is hard work, especially
when working full time, but worth every second.
“Shuttleworth College offers the best in
outdoor and active education and all within spectacular
grounds. It was a privilege to study there.”
Anne Pugh, Floristry Course Manager,
added:
“Claire is an example of the success that
students can achieve from studying at Shuttleworth. We offer
floristry courses for the complete beginner to the more advanced
and give people the chance to study in the evenings, or day
courses, part and full time. Students go on to careers in
floristry, set up their own businesses or use their skills
personally for their own pleasure and delight.”
